Manufacturing ERP System

A packaging manufacturer running production, stock, and dispatch on a mix of registers, Excel files, and WhatsApp messages. Orders were accepted faster than the paperwork could keep up, and the office could not answer basic stock questions without walking to the floor.

• Roll stock was counted manually, so the figure on paper and the figure in the godown regularly disagreed.
• Production orders lived in a register; sales had no reliable way to check what was already committed.
• Dispatch details were written by hand, which made tracing a specific roll back to its production batch slow and unreliable.
• Management reports were assembled by hand at month end, which meant decisions were made on last month's picture.

• Built a production and sales order module so an order is entered once and is visible to the floor, to sales, and to dispatch.
• Implemented inventory tracking for film stock and cylinders, with the stock ledger updated by the same entries the team already makes.
• Added barcode/QR generation and scanning for rolls, so dispatch is recorded by scan rather than by handwriting.
• Built role-based access so floor staff, sales, and management each see the screens relevant to them.
• Added reporting screens that assemble production, stock, and dispatch figures from live data.

• Stock figures and dispatch records now come from a single system rather than from separate registers, so the office and the floor work off the same number.
• A dispatched roll can be traced back to its production batch by scanning it, instead of searching handwritten records.
• Month-end reporting is generated from data the team already enters, replacing the manual compilation that used to precede it.

These are described improvements to the process, not measured figures. We have not published percentages or savings for this project because the client has not shared and confirmed those numbers — and we would rather say that than invent them.
